Tom Leykis Internship

The Tom Leykis Show offers non-paid Internships for college credit only. The number of hours you need to complete is determined by the college you’re attending. On average you’ll work 8-10 hours a week. The length of the internship coincides with the semester or quarter you receive the credit. For example if you need to complete 160 hours and your semester is 16 weeks you’d work 10 hours a week for sixteen weeks. Internships are offered Monday thru Friday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We suggest that you come in twice a week. The day and time are flexible.

Interns are expected to interact with listeners, talent, clients and performance venues. They act as a liaison between the Tom Leykis Show and the general public as a station promotional representative. Interns assist in the overall event process from creation through execution and follow up. The Tom Leykis Show encourages teamwork and leadership while providing an educational experience for students with a passion for the radio industry. They will attend regularly scheduled events and broadcasts and assist in the office.

While in the office, interns will update databases, input information on the station website, prize fulfillment and assist with day-to-day operations. Students will do light production, research topics for talk shows, office work and complete various tasks. During the course of the internship interns will learn how to produce, screen calls and run the on-air board.
